Beware of saddle sores.

That’s the advice to follow for competitors in the inaugural Tour Divide Race, who on June 13 started pedaling out of Banff, Alberta, a whopping 2,711 miles all the way to Mexico in the world’s longest mountain bike race.

Extreme kayakerTao Berman is on a tear.

Fresh off a Class V creek race victory on the South St. Vrain at the Lyons Outdoor Games a week earlier, Hood River, Ore.-based Berman, one of the top extreme kayakers in the world, laid claim to another win at the Dagger Steep Creek Championships on Homestake Creek, kicking off the Teva Mountain Games in Vail, Colo. Berman’s two-run time of 03:41.51 bested second-place finisher Todd Anderson by nearly three seconds.

That's what will be going thorugh the heads of the world's top mountian bikers as the Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup heads to Bromont, Quebec, Aug 1-3, 2008, for the final event of the season before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The International Cycling Union (UCI) has awarded a triple sanction to the organising committee, including Olympic cross country, downhill and 4 cross events.

2008 IMBA World Mtn Bike Summit Comes to Park City Print E-mail

Mountain biking enthusiasts from around the globe will gather in Park City, Utah, June 18-21 for the 2008 IMBA World Summit. The bi-annual gathering—which last drew more than 400 delegates from 17 nations to Whistler for three days--will bring mountain biking advocates, land managers, ski resort professionals, trailbuilders, tourism officials and the bike industry together for collaboration, planning and celebration.
